Siugmin Lay es psicóloga de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile y doctora en Psicología de la Universidad Royal Holloway University of London (Reino Unido). Ha participado en diversos proyectos de investigación en temas como discriminación y prejuicio, amistad y contacto intergrupal, migración y preferencias aculturativas, conductas de ayuda y solidaridad, evaluación educacional, evaluación de programas e investigación comparativa transcultural. Actualmente es investigadora y coordinadora del área de investigación de MIDE UC. 

Áreas de interés

Su línea de investigación se vincula al área de psicología social y se enfoca en las relaciones y actitudes intergrupales. Su agenda de investigación abarca el estudio del contacto intergrupal y las normas sociales como mecanismos facilitadores de cambio de las actitudes y la conducta de las personas, en específico para reducir el prejuicio, modificar las preferencias de aculturación y promover las conductas prosociales.
